SURPRISE!

Back to the holiday issue… Which ones to celebrate and which to let slip by? I’m into birthdays, but not necessarily my own. Hengky managed to WOW me this time, though, and make me think birthdays are indeed pretty cool after all.

Cool as a cucumber, the 18th passed by with little fanfare. A few text messages, a call from Dad early in the morning, some nice posts on the Kapal Selam message board. But generally a slow day. It was also Gavin’s due date and I was content to sit at home and wait for the contractions to begin (they still haven’t).

The doc said that the due date is Jan 18, but as you know the baby could come earlier or later - hence I’d like to purpose we make a mini casino and bet on the birthdate, just for fun, keeping in mind that Thea might burst any minute! Say we place Rp 50,000 each with a date, and the winner(s) will get the money once Thea gives birth. Wouldn’t that be fun?

Munchkins Kid’s Playground Bali

Idul Adha fell on a Tuesday this year. As we’re not Muslim, nor living on a Muslim island, the only effect this had for us was a day off. Excellent. So how best to spend it?
