Bali – Indonesia is perhaps the most well known island of Indonesia, an archipelago nation and Bali – Indonesia is often referred to as ” The Island of the Gods ” Bali – Indonesia has renowned Scuba diving and surfing and many famous divers and surfers as well as explorers of south east Asia have commented on the beauty of Bali – Indonesia, its people and laid back pace.

But first consider first the most important thing a diver needs after he or she chooses a location and begins to plan dives. These are FOOD, DRINK, REST, RELAXATION, Hotel and transportation costs. We will not bore you with endless details just trust that we are not exaggerating when we say that the cost of living is low and the quality of life is high for any tourist or expat in Bali from anywhere in the world.
Now aside from the beautiful and kind people as well as gentle climate, let’s get back to the number consideration of any diver after of course the place to dive.
FOOD!! The food in Bali – Indonesia is delicious and incredibly enjoyable, its also affordable for even the back packer. A piece of grilled chicken breast can be purchased for as low as 65 US cents and fried rice, noodles and countless tropical fruits, nuts and delicacies are so inexpensive that people think we are being deceitful when we describe the prices.
Remember, diving takes energy and many of us who took our certification classes in Key West or Key Largo, Florida and did not listen to the instructor and wear a full wet suit and got the shivers and had to return to the boat to get warm and lost valuable dive time- Bali is warm and does not have the jagged ocean bottom that the eastern US has that create dangerous riptides in which European, Asian and American tourists drown in such riptides to the tune of thirty plus each season since 2001 in the Daytona Beach Area. Remember riptides and current surges affect the diver and surfer both.
In Bali – Indonesia the water is warmer than key west, key largo and many other dive locations across the globe. As we told you, the food and hotel bills are about 70-90% less as well. The cost of the dives themselves tend to be the same all over the world but during your down time even if you drink a lot of beer you will save money in Bali – Indonesia because it is one of the lowest priced tourism capitals in the world and ironically considered expensive compared to the rest of Indonesia; so do not be afraid to join us on our Manado – Indonesia dive adventures.

Here in Bali – Indonesia, you can enjoy hot springs where the volcanic mineral water pours out of dragons mouths and massages and relaxes you. The cost of a 12 hour admission to the hot spring in Banjar village near Lovina is 30 US cents!
Many divers we have interviewed complain about high cost hotels, meals and drink because they have to be careful with their budgets because they know that they work hard and save their money so they can maximize dive time while on vacation; and dive time while on vacation is the most important thing to a diver of any level of skill or experience.
The great news is that Bali and Indonesia in general has the most delicious and lowest priced food and reasonable hotels in the world. So, if you dive here you will notice that you will not lose as much of your vacation budget on high priced hotels, food and transportation.
Bali – Indonesia also offers great surfing, scenic lakes, mountains, monkey forests and scenic Hindu temples and rice paddies.
Many new species of fish and under water creatures were discovered in Bali’s beautiful ocean, especially in Tulamben. Bali also has the USS. Liberty Ship Wreck and Secret Bay dive sites. More than 70 excellent dive sites surrounding Bali have been discovered as of today and who knows? Perhaps when you visit you shall discover a new one.
Bali’s feature dive sites are spread around the m ain island of Bali and a good number are also located in the ocean regions around the three smallest sister islands of Bali.
These sister islands are named: Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan. Bali also has other small rock islands that contain beautiful dive sites like in Gili Tepekong, Gili Mimpang, Gili Biaha and Gili Selang. Each corner of Bali has great dive sites and every dive sites are different.
For beginners we recommend the USS Liberty wreck dive because it is at an angle of between only 5 and 30 meters at its deepest. There is no strong current, it is easy to assess and a shore diving requiring no boat or helicopter.
